Nizhny Novgorod ex-deputy Nikolai Shumilkov will remain in pre-trial detention until August 14.
On July 10, 2026, at 11:58, Incidents: The Sormovsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod extended the preventive measure for entrepreneur, former deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod Duma, and director of the management company Nikolai Shumilkov. This was reported by the court's press service.
The investigator filed a petition for the extension of the arrest. The court granted it. Shumilkov will remain in custody until August 14 inclusive. The request of the accused and his defenders to change the preventive measure to house arrest or bail was denied.
Recall that Shumilkov was arrested in April 2026. He is accused of attempting to illegally transfer money to a person performing managerial functions in a commercial organization for actions in the interests of the giver and other persons, if such actions fall within his official powers, in a particularly large amount (part 3 of article 30 and part 4 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, he, being a participant in the management company in Sormovo, attempted to transfer more than 1 million rubles to another participant of the organization so that he would vote for the dismissal of the current general director and the election of a new candidate.
