Vacationers are reminded of the rules of conduct at urban beaches and recreational areas.
Since the beginning of the summer season, their work is established from 10 AM to 7 PM. Nizhny Novgorod lifeguards are conducting explanatory work among vacationers at city beaches and recreation areas. Since the beginning of the summer season, their work is established from 10 AM to 7 PM. Safety by and in the water is a priority for the employees of the city's emergency rescue team during hot summer days. Today, conversations with vacationing residents of Nizhny Novgorod were held by the emergency rescue team of the Municipal Institution "Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Management of Nizhny Novgorod" at the First Lake of Shcholkovo Farm, where it is always crowded in hot weather. "We work with residents on a daily basis. Our preventive groups have already conducted more than 1,080 conversations for almost 2,000 vacationers. In addition, our rescuers organize classes for Nizhny Novgorod residents. Since June 1, we have conducted more than 50 lessons for 3,500 children as part of the 'Learn to Swim' campaign," said the head of the Unified Dispatch Service of Nizhny Novgorod, Yegor Krivokhizha. Third-class rescuer Andrey Zuev emphasized that all beaches are equipped with special posts and towers for rescuers to monitor swimmers. Cleaning is carried out in beach areas, including monthly divers working in water bodies to clean the bottom to ensure citizens' safety. "We explain to vacationers how to behave in hot weather and how to follow the rules during swimming. We clarify where the lifeguard post is located and how to get first aid," Zuev noted. According to first-class rescuer Oleg Shishov, his area of responsibility is patrolling the lake's water area. "The boat is equipped with the necessary rescue equipment to provide assistance on the water. On the water surface, I can quickly spot a swimmer in need of help. Our control is even appreciated by vacationers. They wave to us from the shore. As a joke, they ask for a ride on the boat," said the rescuer. Local residents note that when they relax at Shcholkovo Farm, they feel the attention of the rescuers and speak of its importance. For example, Vera Sycheva came to the lake with three children, and the rescuers, seeing them by the water, immediately inquired whether the children were resting alone or with adults. "The rescuers are great. Such attention is very pleasant. But I also conducted a briefing with the children before we left. I explained how to behave at the beach. I really like resting here because the territory of Shcholkovo Farm is always clean and cozy," noted Vera Sycheva. A guest from Kaliningrad, Zinaida Goltsman, said that she enjoys going to relax at Shcholkovo Farm: "You have very good nature, clean air and water, and nice people. This is not my first time here. Your city has many beautiful places: both the farm and Bolshaya Pokrovskaya and Strelka. The city is beautiful and well-kept. I really like it here." Rescuers and city services urge Nizhny Novgorod residents to follow safety rules and only relax at official beaches, where all conditions for comfortable and safe swimming are created. Swimming is prohibited in recreation areas by the water – these territories are not intended for swimming. According to the Rospotrebnadzor, as of early July, based on laboratory tests conducted, the water quality meets sanitary and hygienic requirements at the following water bodies: Lake PKiO 2nd stage, Prosp. Molodezhny (Avtozavodsky district), Lake PKiO 2nd stage, Smirnova St. (Avtozavodsky district), Silicate Lake, both beaches (Leninsky district), Sorting Lake, Arkhangelskaya St. (Kanavinsky district), Sorting Lake, Berezovaya Grove (Kanavinsky district).
