More than 85% of the plots have been seized for the extension of the metro in Sormovo.

      On July 8, 2026, at 11:14 AM, Society In the Sormovsky district, preparations continue for the construction of a new metro station and the design of a future transport interchange hub. This was reported in the Max channel "Metro NN - Our. New."

      As of today, more than 85% of the land plots falling within the work zone have already been formalized into municipal ownership. This concerns non-residential buildings and garages. Out of 726 objects, 627 have been seized.

      Recall that a contract worth 19.4 billion rubles for the extension of the metro in the Sormovsky district was signed in August 2022. The new station is planned to be located near Station Street, not far from the railway platform.

      The development of project and estimate documentation is divided into eight stages. Three of them are related to site preparation: the relocation of utility networks, clearing the site, and ensuring readiness to begin construction.

      Another three stages include the creation of assembly and dismantling chambers for tunnel boring complexes, tunnel excavation, as well as the construction of station structures and tunnel facilities. The final two stages concern the landscaping of the area near the future station and along the metro line.

      Earlier, the press service of the general contractor GC "Mostproject-3" reported that a significant part of the engineering surveys has already been completed. Major construction and installation work will begin after the design and approval of documentation, including the estimated cost, in the Main State Expert Review of Russia.
