A resident of Arzamas lost more than 120,000 rubles when purchasing a shed online.

      July 6, 2026 19:19 Incidents A 45-year-old resident of Arzamas became a victim of fraud while attempting to purchase a construction trailer online. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On the classifieds website, the man found information about the production and sale of construction trailers and contacted the seller at the provided phone number. In a conversation with the person who introduced himself as a manager, they discussed the terms of the order and delivery.

      Later, the victim received a supply contract and payment documents via email. Through a mobile banking app, the man transferred over 122,000 rubles to the specified account details. After receiving the money, the scammer stopped responding. Realizing that he had become a victim of deception, the victim contacted the police.

      A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). Police officers are working to identify those involved in the crime.
