In Nizhny Novgorod, the results of the educational program for social entrepreneurs "More than Business" were summarized. In the final, 30 participants presented their projects to an expert commission, with 13 individuals becoming winners. The award ceremony took place at the House of National Unity. The acceleration program "More than Business" was launched in the region in 2026. It was organized by the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Center for Social Sphere Innovations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" (CIS Nizhny Novgorod) with the support of the regional Ministry of Social Policy and the Fund for Supporting Social Projects. A total of more than 330 applications were submitted for participation in the program. The training included a six-day intensive course featuring federal and regional speakers, thematic webinars, individual project support, and expert sessions. Projects were evaluated based on criteria such as social significance, achieved social effect, and presentation quality. The expert commission included Vadim Tsyganov, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region; Albina Razina, First Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the region; Elena Perenkova, Deputy Minister of Education of the region; Svetlana Kashina, Director of CIS Nizhny Novgorod; as well as independent experts and business mentors. The winners received certificates for free resource support: project packaging into a franchise, website creation or promotion, and the development of a professional business plan. Supported initiatives include projects in the fields of technical creativity, psychological assistance, inclusive tourism, cultural heritage preservation, and social rehabilitation. The Nizhny Novgorod Region ranks in the top 5 subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of the number of social enterprises: the registry lists 509 small and medium-sized enterprises implementing socially significant projects. Supporting entrepreneurship, including social-oriented initiatives, is a task of the federal project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," which is being implemented at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
