This was stated in an interview with IA "Vremya N" by Doctor of Architecture, restorer Alexander Shumilkin. According to him, the area even features ancient Russian architecture from the 16th-17th centuries, which is rarely encountered today. There are also buildings preserved in the styles of Baroque, Classicism, Eclecticism, Modernism, and the Soviet period. Shumilkin noted that Nizhny Novgorod architects and restorers work with almost all major materials—wood, stone, and brick. According to him, this is rarely found in other regions. "For example, in the northern regions, architecture is mainly wooden, while in the southern regions, it is stone. But we have both— in this regard, we are certainly unique," the specialist explained. According to the expert, the main task of restorers is to preserve the architectural features that the Nizhny Novgorod land is rich in. Earlier, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, reported that since 2018, more than 870 cultural heritage sites have been restored in the region.
