The entrepreneur was convicted of fraud during the liquidation of landfills in Balakhna.

      On June 30, 2026, at 18:28, Incidents: The Balakhna City Court sentenced a Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneur who was found guilty of fraud on a particularly large scale while executing a municipal contract for the elimination of unauthorized landfills. This was reported by the press service of the regional court.

      It was established that in 2022, during the execution of the contract for the elimination of unauthorized waste disposal sites in the Balakhna district, the entrepreneur submitted to the customer reports of completed work with false information about the volume of disposed waste.

      As a result of these actions, more than 2.3 million rubles were illegally obtained from the budgets of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Balakhna district.

      During the court proceedings, the man did not admit his guilt, but fully compensated for the damage caused.

      The court found him guilty under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to three years of conditional imprisonment with a probation period of three years. The convicted person was also imposed with obligations prescribed by the court.

      The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
