      July 1, 2026 17:25 Society Starting July 9, the direction of the main road at the intersection of the exit from Geroev Donbassa Avenue to the residential area and the local road parallel to the highway will change in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the city’s Department of Transport and Road Management. The decision was made after residents' appeals and an inspection of the road situation. Now, the main road will be for cars turning from the avenue to the residential area. Those traveling on the parallel road will have to yield. It is expected that the new scheme will help organize traffic at the intersection and reduce congestion on the avenue. Currently, drivers exiting the highway have to yield to the flow from the local road, which slows down traffic in the main direction and causes traffic jams. The administration added that such a scheme is already in place at the intersections of Gagarin Avenue with Surikov Street and Lenin Avenue with Dargomyzhsky Street. Motorists are asked to be attentive when passing through the intersection and to familiarize themselves with the updated traffic scheme in advance.
