Maslyakova Street in Nizhny Novgorod will be widened to four lanes.

The work will begin after the completion of the utility network replacement. The head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, inspected the modernization of heating and water supply, the mayor's office reported. According to him, the need to replace the utilities has long been overdue: emergency crews have been dispatched here several times each season for urgent work. The work by "OKO" began in May. As reported by Dmitry Sivokhin, the general director of JSC "OKO," before the major road repair, the company is updating the networks under the roadway on the section from Ilyinskaya Street to Gorky Square. The work is divided into six stages, and the third stage is currently being implemented. A total of 206 meters of heating networks are planned to be replaced, of which 80 meters have already been relaid. At the same time, 210 meters of water pipelines are being updated, including the pipeline to kindergarten No. 31 on Maslyakova Street, 8. The work is being carried out using the trenchless method and is more than three-quarters complete. "We are doing a complete replacement of all networks to bring them to a normative state and not to disturb the landscaping with excavations for at least 15-20 years. We will leave here in mid-August and hand over this road to our road construction colleagues," said Dmitry Sivokhin. The network replacement is taking place with the road closed. The work is ahead of schedule, and by the second half of August, the section is planned to be handed over to the road services. After that, the major renovation with the reconstruction of the street will begin. Depending on the section, the roadway will be expanded to three to four lanes to improve traffic in the Gorky Square area. Sidewalks and lighting will also be updated. According to Alexander Gerasimenko, the deputy general director for the construction and repair of roads at the MBU "GUMMiD," the repair from Gorky Square to the Pokhvalinsky exit is divided into two stages. Demolition work is already underway on the section from Ilyinskaya Street to the Pokhvalinsky exit. Four traffic lanes, sidewalks, lighting, and storm drainage will be arranged here. The contract for the repair of the section from Gorky Square to Ilyinskaya Street has been signed, and the contractor has been determined. Work will begin after the completion of the utility network replacement. This section also includes road widening to organize two-way traffic. The head of the city emphasized that the repair of the roadway on Maslyakova must be completed this year to remove all closures.
