The company "Teploseti" is conducting hydraulic tests on more than 600 km of heating networks.

      June 29, 2026 12:48 Society A key stage in the preparation for the upcoming heating season is taking place at the resource supply organization "Teploseti" (part of "En+ Teplo Volga") - large-scale hydraulic tests of the heating networks. Until August 31, energy specialists will check 100% of the pipelines in the Avtozavodsky and Leninsky districts that are in operation, which amounts to over 600 km of networks with diameters ranging from 32 to 720 mm. Hydraulic tests remain one of the most effective and reliable methods for diagnosing heating networks, allowing for the detection of hidden weak spots. The work is carried out sequentially, almost on a daily basis at different sections. The tests are conducted over a period of 4 to 8 hours, during which water is supplied to the system under increased pressure, while specialists monitor the data from control instruments. A drop in pressure instantly signals a leak, and the defective section is immediately handed over to repair teams. Hydraulic testing is the primary diagnostic method before the heating season, but energy specialists actively use other technologies as well. In particular, acoustic tomography is used on networks that operate year-round, allowing for the assessment of the condition of pipes without their disconnection and planning repairs for sections at risk of defects. Thickness measurements are also conducted in all accessible areas to assess hidden thinning and metal wear. "The effectiveness of a comprehensive approach in our work is confirmed by accurate data: last year we preemptively eliminated over 300 defects, which allowed us to pass the heating season of 2025-2026 without exceeding regulatory losses. This year, for effective preparation for the autumn-winter period, we have installed additional stationary pressure testing pumps at key sections and are testing oil stations for accelerated water drainage from defective areas," noted Alexander Prokofyev, General Director of LLC "Teploseti." Effective preparation for the upcoming heating season significantly reduces the risks of emergency situations and ensures the comfort of 400,000 residents of the Avtozavodsky and Leninsky districts during the heating season.
