      Car owners in the Nizhny Novgorod region keep crossovers and SUVs the longest. On average, vehicles in this segment remain with the first owner for 5.3 years, experts from "Avito Auto" found out.

      Specialists analyzed the ownership periods of used cars in three popular segments: SUVs, premium brands, and Chinese cars. The study included vehicles that the first owner had for at least one year.

      According to "Avtoteka," 43% of crossovers and SUVs in the Nizhny Novgorod region remain with their owners for more than five years. The most notable "long-liver" is the UAZ Hunter — on average, it is not changed for 8.2 years.

      Also among the leaders are the Suzuki Grand Vitara with an average ownership period of 7.8 years, Great Wall Hover H5 — 7.5 years, Suzuki SX4 — 7.4 years, and Opel Mokka — 7.2 years.

      In addition, residents of Nizhny Novgorod use the Skoda Yeti, SsangYong Kyron, and Chevrolet Niva for a long time — an average of 7.1 years. The first-generation Chery Tiggo remains with the owner for about seven years, while the SsangYong Actyon — 6.7 years.

      Managing Director of "Avtoteka" Andrey Tumkin noted that owners rarely part with frame SUVs. According to him, such vehicles are usually purchased for travel, off-road, and active recreation with the expectation of long-term use.

      In the premium segment, cars are changed noticeably more often — on average every four years. Among such models, Land Rover Range Rover, Lexus RX, and BMW X3 remain with their first owners the longest.

      The average ownership period for Chinese cars is 3.7 years. In this segment, the leaders are Great Wall Hover H5, Chery Tiggo, Geely Emgrand EC7, and LIFAN X60.
