June 27 – Feast of the Diveyevo Saints

      In April 2008, by the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II, the celebration in honor of the Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Saints, as well as the saints of the Serafimo-Diveevo Monastery, which is the fourth domain of the Mother of God on earth, was established. Since then, the Assembly of Diveevo Saints has been celebrated on June 27, the day after the feast of the founder of the Diveevo Monastery, the Venerable Alexandra (Melgunova). This is not accidental, as it was from the small Kazan community founded by Mother Alexandra at the behest of the Queen of Heaven herself that the spiritual history of Diveevo began. On this day, we remember the saints whose lives and labors were connected with the Holy Trinity Serafimo-Diveevo Monastery.

      During Her twelfth appearance to the Venerable Serafim in 1861, the Mother of God promised in response to his request that everyone in Diveevo would be saved. The Most Holy Theotokos, pointing to the maidens and martyrs accompanying Her, said about the Diveevo orphans: "Impose obedience on them; if they correct themselves, they will be with you and near Me, and if they lose wisdom, they will lose the fate of these close maidens of Mine: there will be neither place nor crown for them. Whoever offends them will be struck by Me; whoever serves them for the Lord's sake will be shown mercy before God!" Then She said to Evdokia Efremovna, who was privileged to witness this miraculous visitation: "Look at these maidens of Mine and at their crowns; some of them have left the earthly kingdom and wealth, desiring the eternal and heavenly kingdom, loving voluntary poverty, loving the One Lord, and for this, you see what glory and honor they have received. As it was before, so it is now. Only the former martyrs suffered openly, while the present ones suffer secretly, with heartfelt sorrows, and their reward will be the same." This miraculous case is described in the life of the Venerable Serafim of Sarov by the Hieromartyr Serafim (Chichagov), who is also honored in the Assembly of Diveevo Saints.

      Currently, the Assembly of Diveevo Saints includes 17 ascetics. Serving the holy Diveevo Monastery, they pleased God with their labors and were glorified by Him.

      The Assembly of Diveevo Saints includes the Venerable Serafim of Sarov, Alexandra of Diveevo (Melgunova), Elena of Diveevo (Manturova), Martha of Diveevo (Milyukova), Blessed Maria of Diveevo (Fedina), Paraskeva of Diveevo, Pelagia of Diveevo (Serebrennikova), Hieromartyr Serafim (Chichagov), New Martyrs Metropolitan Serafim (Chichagov), Daria Timagina (Timolina), Suvorovskaya, Daria Ulybina (Siushinskaya), Suvorovskaya, Evdokia Nemkova (Shikova), Maria the Unknown, Suvorovskaya, Mikhail and Yakov Gusev, nun Matrona (Vlasova), Pelagia (Testova), and Martha (Testova).

      In honor of the Assembly of Diveevo Saints, a new church was built on the grounds of the Holy Trinity Serafimo-Diveevo Monastery in Moscow, and an altar was consecrated in the Assumption Church of the Annunciation Cathedral of the Diveevo Monastery.
