The ban on vapes in the Nizhny Novgorod region will not be postponed.

      June 25, 2026 17:09 Society The deadlines for the introduction of the ban on the circulation of vapes in the Nizhny Novgorod region are not planned to be postponed. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Economic Development and Investments. Earlier, a draft law was posted on the regional government website for regulatory impact assessment, which proposed changing the effective date of the law on additional measures to protect citizens' health from tobacco smoke and nicotine-containing products. The document provided for a postponement of the deadline to March 1, 2027. The ministry emphasized that the restrictions will come into effect as planned, starting September 1, 2026.

      "The document, which specifies a different deadline, is incorrect; it was published by mistake," the Ministry of Economics reported.

      Recall that at the end of May, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region supported a draft law banning the retail sale of vapes, liquids for them, and other devices for consuming nicotine-containing products. According to the document, the new rules will come into effect on September 1, 2026. In early June, the State Duma adopted a federal law allowing regions to impose a ban starting March 1, 2027.
