      The women's team "Torpedo" may still return to the Women's Hockey League. This was reported to TASS by the Center for Sports Management and Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The development of the situation can vary, and no one is currently planning to completely rule out the option of the club's return, as explained by the Center. If suitable conditions arise, they are ready to revisit the issue.

      "Among the key development priorities for several Nizhny Novgorod clubs, including the 'Torpedo' club system, the goal has been set to increase off-budget funding," the Center explained.

      A representative of the Center emphasized that the suspension of the work of the women's hockey club "Torpedo" was in line with the long-term strategy of the club system. The results of the main team and the establishment of a clear training vertical—from the children's school to the MHL and the main squad—remain a priority.

      Recall that the women's hockey team "Torpedo" was closed in the spring of 2025. In the 2024/2025 season, the Nizhny Novgorod hockey players won bronze medals in the championship. The decision to disband was explained by the desire to concentrate resources on the main men's team and reduce expenses.

      This year, for financial reasons, the board of "Torpedo" also closed the farm club. In addition, the Nizhny Novgorod region lost the BC "Pari NN."
