This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife Protection of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Smoke was detected using video monitoring in the Borsky forestry. The fact of the fire in the forest fund area was confirmed by an on-site inspection. The fire spread over an area of 0.1 hectares. Seven specialists and three units of equipment participated in the extinguishing efforts. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was careless handling of fire. A second forest fire covering an area of 0.13 hectares occurred in the Balakhna district, which was reported to the Ministry of Forestry's security by local residents. Ten agency employees and four units of equipment participated in its extinguishing. It is worth noting that at the beginning of May, the first forest fire was already reported; however, later ministry officials clarified that it occurred in the territory of Dzerzhinsk.
