The authors include Nizhny Novgorod tour guide Ivan Andreev (Go po Nizhnemu), project authors Ksenia Kiseleva and Yegor Timoshenko from "Metro NN," and co-authors of the book "Metro. Life of the Underground Universe." The book was published by the "BOMBORA" publishing house. As Yegor Timoshenko noted, "Walks in Nizhny Novgorod" is an authorial project that tells about the city through history, architecture, literature, legends, and social contrasts. "The main idea of the book is to show Nizhny Novgorod as a city that unfolds gradually. The routes are structured so that each one continues from the other: by following them sequentially, the reader begins to notice how different eras, events, and people intertwine in the city's space, how the past and present collide on one street, and how familiar places are rediscovered," Timoshenko added. "This book grew out of love for Nizhny Novgorod and the desire to tell about it not only through well-known sights but also through atmosphere, details, and unusual plots. We wanted to create a guide that is interesting to read at home but truly comes to life during a walk," noted tour guide and project author Ivan Andreev from Go po Nizhnemu. The authors stated that the book features six thematic routes that form a cohesive journey through the city:

      Industrial Nizhny - Avtozavodsky District, social city, factory architecture, and the metro as a separate world with its own logic, legends, and unexpected details.

      Criminal Nizhny - the dark side of the fair city: high-profile cases, criminal scams, and stories that chill the blood.

      Mystical Nizhny - legends, unusual coincidences, ghosts of the past, and addresses where the city seems to change its tone.

      Literary Nizhny - traces of writers, living biographies, urban myths, and facts linking streets with great texts.

      Historical Nizhny - Pokrovka, key points in the center, and the Kremlin perspective that help "assemble" the city and see it in historical depth.

      Poor and Rich Nizhny - contrasts of urban life: from luxurious houses and merchant splendor to places where history was harsher and more honest.

      "Previously, we released a book about how the metro works in Russia and the CIS countries, and in the new guide, we continued this theme - we developed a route that shows how the history of metro development is connected with the development of Nizhny Novgorod itself. Through stations, districts, and urban infrastructure, one can see how the city has changed and how it was envisioned in different eras," said project authors Ksenia Kiseleva and Yegor Timoshenko, adding that the popular science book "Metro. Life of the Underground Universe," dedicated to the structure and operation of the metro, has become available to Russian-speaking readers outside of Russia.

      The publication "Metro. Life of the Underground Universe" is presented through Russian-language bookstores and platforms operating in Germany, Spain, the Baltic States, and other European countries. Additionally, the book has started to find readers beyond the European market, including in India. The media project "Metro NN," which tells about the Nizhny Novgorod subway and more, has released a book about the life and work of the metro: with historical excursions and legends. Earlier, the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, stated that the project "Metro. Life of the Underground Universe" was implemented with the participation of employees of the Nizhny Novgorod metro; moreover, the authors also studied the practices of the Minsk metro.
