As reported by the Department of Social Communications and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration, based on the results of the in-person defense, 22 projects became winners and will receive financial support for the implementation of the proposed initiatives. A total of 121 applications were submitted by young people aged 14 to 35. 104 projects passed the selection for the remote stage, and 90 were allowed to the in-person defense by the decision of the expert council. As a result, 22 projects were selected as winners for grant support. Participants submitted applications in eight nominations: "Young Patriots," "Good in Nizhny," "Comfortable Nizhny," "Development in Nizhny," "Family Nizhny," "Media in Nizhny," "Cultural Nizhny," and "Healthy Nizhny." "Every year, with the support of the city head Yuri Shalabaev, the competition 'Young Nizhny' brings together active, goal-oriented young people whose initiatives make a significant contribution to the development of Nizhny Novgorod. This year, among the winning projects are both patriotic initiatives and projects aimed at supporting families with children with disabilities, as well as projects in the field of health care and adaptive sports. A significant portion of the projects is aimed at developing the cultural environment, volunteering, and career guidance in the city," the department noted, adding that in 2026, the application period for the competition started on April 1. Winners can claim support of up to 500,000 rubles for the implementation of their idea.
