1.2 thousand Russian universities will open their doors to applicants this year.

      On Saturday, June 20, the admission campaign started in universities, colleges, and technical schools across Russia. A total of 1,200 higher education institutions and nearly 4,000 colleges are open for enrollment nationwide. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.

      This year, Russian applicants have access to over 620,000 budget places in universities and about 880,000 budget places in secondary vocational education programs. Most of these are aimed at training future teachers, doctors, and engineering and technical specialists. About 73% of all budget places are allocated to universities located in the regions. "The admission campaign is an important period not only for applicants but for our entire country, as the choice of fields affects the successful development of its sectors of the economy and technological leadership – a national goal set by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

      Documents for admission can only be submitted electronically through the "Online University Admission" service on the State Services portal. Additionally, applicants can bring documents in person by visiting the university or send them by mail. The "University Selection" service can help applicants decide on a university and compare their Unified State Exam scores with the passing scores from previous years.

      Starting this year, on August 3 and 7, universities will hold "quiet days" – on these dates, applicants will not be able to take any actions regarding their applications and consents, including withdrawing them. This eliminates the possibility of losing budget places.

      For information on admission rules, targeted training, admission of foreign citizens, and other questions, one can consult the Unified Contact Center for the admission campaign at universities. It operates 24/7 from June 1 to November 30 inclusive.
