More than 3700 budget places are open for applicants to NNSU.
Nizhny Novgorod State University named after Lobachevsky opened the admissions campaign for 2026 on June 20. In the year of its 110th anniversary, the university offers applicants more than 3,700 budget places at all levels of education. Admissions are conducted for 13 faculties and institutes located in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as in the university branches in Balakhna, Dzerzhinsk, and Arzamas. In 2026, NNSU offers 20 specialties in secondary vocational education, 67 bachelor's and specialist programs, 88 master's programs, 23 residency specialties, and 64 doctoral programs. Several new training areas have been opened for applicants. The Institute of Philology and Journalism has introduced a profile in "Literary Creativity." The Institute of Economics will start training in the field of "Pedagogical Education" with a profile in "Leadership and Corporate Training Organization" and awarding a second qualification in "Economics." The Institute of Information Technologies, Mathematics, and Mechanics has opened a specialty in "Information and Analytical Security Systems." Additionally, the university has increased the number of budget places in the fields of "Linguistics," "Chemical Technology," "Applied Mechanics," and "Psychological and Pedagogical Education." On the eve of the start of the admissions campaign, NNSU rector Oleg Trofimov checked the readiness of the admissions committee and wished applicants good luck. "It is important not to be afraid to try something new, set big goals, and move forward. Lobachevsky University strives to help uncover new talents and teach critical thinking," noted the rector. Applications for secondary vocational education, bachelor's, specialist, and master's programs can be submitted through the "Gosuslugi" portal or in person at the NNSU admissions office at 23 Gagarin Avenue. For those applying for residency, the opportunity to submit documents through a personal account on the university's website will also open on July 1.
