525 students will be able to move into dormitory No. 1 of NNGASU after the renovation.

      On June 20, 2026, at 13:28, the Nizhny Novgorod State Architectural and Construction University will carry out selective major repairs of dormitory No. 1 on Gogol Street as part of the federal program "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses" of the national project "Youth and Children." This was reported by the university's press service.

      In 2026, nearly 100 million rubles are planned to be allocated for the work. The repairs are set to begin in the middle of the third quarter and are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

      After modernization, the number of living rooms in the dormitory will increase from 92 to 165. It will accommodate 525 people. The expansion of the room stock will be made possible by the re-equipment and modernization of non-core premises.

      The project also includes the renovation of kitchens on each floor, replacing gas stoves with electric ones, creating coworking spaces in rooms for individual study, and equipping shower rooms on each floor.

      During the renovation, students living in dormitory No. 1 will be relocated to other university dormitories.

      This is already the second project for the renovation of student dormitories at NNGASU under the federal program. In March 2025, major repairs began on dormitory No. 2 on Koreysky Lane, costing about 160 million rubles. After the work is completed, students will be able to move into the renovated building by the beginning of the 2026/27 academic year.
