The filming is being organized by the St. Petersburg film company "Zebra." At the same time, preparations are underway for the creation of a children's fantasy adventure series "The First Law of Shurupchik," directed by Andrei Ivanov. The project is produced by LLC "Cargo Films." The filming period in the Nizhny Novgorod region will last from July 1 to August 31, 2026. Earlier, in 2022, this film company had already worked in the region on the series "Cool Change" (16+), in which Nikita Efremov played the lead role. The plot of "The First Law of Shurupchik" tells the story of ten-year-old Shurka Dobrynin, nicknamed Shurupchik. The boy dreams of attracting the attention of his classmate Lilya and getting a pet, but his attempts are unsuccessful. Everything changes after he finds a magical compass that grants wishes in exchange for good deeds. With the help of those around him, Shurupchik becomes popular at school and wins Lilya's affection. His main ally becomes a new classmate, Marina—a girl in a wheelchair with bright pink hair. However, over time, the hero begins to show selfishness, his friendship with Marina is threatened, and the magical compass falls into the hands of Misha Shestov. Several locations in Nizhny Novgorod have been chosen for the series, including the Protected Quarters, the People's Unity Square, the Upper Volga Embankment, Markina Square, and the Meshcherskoye Lake microdistrict. The film crew will also work in the Bor and Gorodets municipal districts. The Ministry of Culture also reported that in early June, a short film for teenagers titled "The Secret of Pochaina," directed by Alena Chernyak, was filmed in the city. The project was submitted by individual entrepreneur Skryleva E.V. (video academy "You are a star"). Filming took place in the historical part of Nizhny Novgorod, including near the Pochainsky Ravine, as well as at Lyceum No. 38 and the Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Universal Scientific Library. "The Secret of Pochaina" is a modern adventure story that combines mysticism, scientific research, and themes of social responsibility. The plot follows three teenagers who accidentally discover a mysterious stone with unusual properties in the Pochainsky Ravine. Additionally, in the first days of June, filming of the educational ethnographic program "Want a Holiday" (12+) took place in the region. The episode was dedicated to the folk traditions of the Ivan Kupala holiday. The filming location was the territory of the Shchelokovsky Farm.
