The update of the road surface and bus stops has begun on the R-158 highway in Lukoyanov as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life."

      In Lukoyanov, the repair of a section of the federal highway R-158 "Nizhny Novgorod - Saratov" has begun, during which 13 bus stops will be restored, reported the Main Department of Automobile Roads of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The work is being carried out as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" on the segment from the 165th to the 171st km. The contract value is 167.3 million rubles. According to the project documentation, the contractor will carry out a set of activities to update the road. The area will be cleared of shrubs and small trees, the shoulders and slopes will be leveled and reinforced with gravel. On the roadway, the old asphalt concrete surface will be milled, and leveling and top layers of gravel-mastic asphalt mix will be laid, including ramps. The contractor will restore 13 bus stops with the construction of pull-in pockets and the installation of new reinforced concrete pavilions, install 20 new road signs, and apply thermoplastic markings with reflective elements. "This is one of two sections of the federal highway R-158 that are under the operational management of GUAD, the second one is in the Shatkovsky district, where major repairs were carried out in 2021. The road in Lukoyanov has long required updating - there is a large flow of transit traffic here, including tourist buses to Bolshoye Boldino and heavy trucks to Mordovia. The new surface, reinforced shoulders, and plastic markings will make the route safer," said acting director of the State Institution of Nizhny Novgorod Region "GUAD" Alexander Denisov. Let us remind you that since 2019, thanks to the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (until 2025 - "Safe and Quality Roads"), more than 6.6 thousand km of roads have been repaired in Nizhny Novgorod Region, and about 140 km of regional roads have been built and reconstructed. Only in 2025, 761 km of the road network will be brought to standard against a plan of 626 km. The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with the aim of providing citizens with modern infrastructure. The national project consists of 12 federal projects, which are partly a continuation of previously implemented national projects "Safe Quality Roads," "Housing and Urban Environment," and state programs of the Russian Federation. They are aimed, among other things, at the development of road construction, housing and communal services, ensuring road safety, and developing public passenger transport.
