      June 19, 2026 09:11 Culture and Leisure The Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has once again initiated the withdrawal of a bill from the State Duma that provides for the adjustment of federal norms regarding the use of funds from participants in shared construction for the reconstruction of cultural heritage sites into apartment buildings. As reported by "Ъ-Privolzhye," the head of the committee for urban development, Vasily Sukhanov, explained that the document received comments from the government of the Russian Federation. To avoid a possible rejection of the initiative in the lower house of parliament, it was decided to withdraw it from consideration and send it for further development. According to Sukhanov, the draft amendments will be revised taking into account the expressed comments. It is worth noting that the first version of the bill was submitted to the State Duma in June 2025, but it was later returned to the authors. In the updated version of the bill, the comments were taken into account. In Nizhny Novgorod, two projects potentially fall under the initiative - the "Chekist House" and the Lenin Cultural Center. Both involve the dismantling of existing structures and the subsequent restoration of buildings while preserving the historical appearance of the facades.
