One person died, two were injured in a traffic accident involving a truck on the Nizhny Novgorod highway.

      On June 17, 2026, at 18:52, in the Nizhny Novgorod region, a horrific traffic accident occurred, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others. This was reported by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

      The accident happened during the day on June 17 on the highway "Ryazhsk - Kasimov - Murom - Nizhny Novgorod" in the Pavlovsky district.

      According to preliminary data, a 54-year-old man, driving a Faw J6 truck, was traveling from the direction of Ryazhsk towards Nizhny Novgorod. While navigating a turn at the end of an incline, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

      In the oncoming lane, the truck collided with a VAZ-21074 car driven by a 69-year-old man, who was traveling from Nizhny Novgorod towards Ryazhsk.

      As a result of the accident, a passenger in the VAZ-21074, a 70-year-old woman, died at the scene before the ambulance crew arrived.

      The driver of the VAZ-21074 and his 10-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to the GBUZ NO "Oksky MMC."

      An investigative operational group is working at the scene. The circumstances of the accident are being established.
