The Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Education spoke about the new admission rules for universities in 2026.

On June 16, 2026, at 16:20 Society Several innovations will come into effect during the 2026 admissions campaign in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the region, Lyubov Shirokova, at a press conference on June 16, as reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."

Firstly, college and technical school graduates will only be able to enroll in universities for the programs they studied at their previous educational institution. If such applicants wish to change their specialty, they will need to take the Unified State Exam (EGE).

Secondly, the quotas for targeted training at Nizhny Novgorod universities will now be determined based on the applications of specific employers.

Thirdly, applications can only be submitted in three ways: in person at the admissions office, by mail, or on the "Gosuslugi" portal. It will not be possible to use a personal account on the university's website for this purpose.

In addition, the rector of NGLU named after Dobrolyubov, Nikita Avralev, added that there is now a so-called "day of silence." On August 7, when applicants are enrolled in full-time education, it will no longer be possible to withdraw consent.

Let us remind you that the admissions campaign starts in the region on June 20.
