      On June 16, 2026, 13:45 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a one-time payment to citizens who have signed a contract for military service with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has been increased. Changes to the decree by Governor Gleb Nikitin came into effect on June 15, the regional government press service reported. Now the amount of the one-time payment is 3.2 million rubles, provided that the contract is signed at the Nizhny Novgorod unified selection point. This amount includes 2.8 million rubles from regional and municipal payments, as well as 400 thousand rubles from the Ministry of Defense of Russia. In addition, military personnel are entitled to a monthly allowance of 210 thousand rubles while in the SVO zone and a certificate for the provision of land from the Nizhny Novgorod region. Regional support measures now also apply to foreign citizens who have signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation after June 15. Families of military personnel can expect a range of support measures, including monthly payments of 10 thousand rubles for each child, payments to pregnant women in the same amount, free vouchers to sanatorium-rehabilitation centers and children's camps, priority free medical care, benefits for housing and communal services, and preschool services. Individual support for military families is also provided. In addition, in 2026, a new type of social contract for demobilized participants of the SVO came into effect in Russia. It provides for a payment of up to 350 thousand rubles for starting a business. Funds can be used for purchasing equipment, renting premises, buying raw materials, creating a website, and advertising.
