Nizhny Novgorod residents may be left without internet and communication during the elections.
June 15, 2026 17:57 Society The Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, stated that during the election period in certain regions of the country, there may be disruptions in mobile communication and internet services. According to her, such measures may be related to security issues. Pamfilova emphasized that in such situations, the priority remains the protection of people's lives and health. "In such cases, there is no point in complaining, because let's weigh it: how you couldn't access the internet or the lives of people saved," she said. The head of the CEC noted that the electoral system has already adapted to operate under communication restrictions. In particular, commissions have learned to conduct remote electronic voting even in the face of such difficulties. Additionally, it is planned to organize extra Wi-Fi access points at polling stations. Let us remind you that the Unified Voting Day in 2026 is scheduled for September 20. On this day, Russians will elect deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation, senior officials of several regions, deputies of the legislative assemblies of the subjects of the Russian Federation, and representatives of local self-government bodies in administrative centers. Voting in the State Duma elections will take place over three days. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
