More than 160 applications were submitted by Nizhny Novgorod residents for the "Native Toy" competition.
On June 15, 2026, at 14:10, representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod region submitted 163 applications to participate in the second season of the All-Russian competition "Native Toy," which is organized by the Russian Society "Knowledge" in collaboration with the "Movement of the First" as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
"The 'Native Toy' competition provides an opportunity for talented developers, entrepreneurs, educators, students, and all those who care about creating quality domestic games and toys to present their ideas at the federal level. I am confident that among the submitted projects, there are developments that can contribute to the growth of the domestic children's goods industry and will be in demand by families across the country," noted the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov.
Anyone over the age of 14, regardless of experience and professional status, can participate in the competition. This year, winners will be selected in three categories: "Ideas for Games and Toys," "Prototypes of Games and Toys," and "Finished Products." More than 5,000 applications have already been received from 86 regions of Russia.
"The 'Ideas for Games and Toys' category has generated the most interest among participants. Inspired by such feedback, we have decided to extend the application deadline in this category until June 28. We hope this will attract even more authors, creative teams, professional manufacturers, and independent developers ready to present promising projects. After all, behind every quality game or toy is a strong idea that requires serious development—from concept and mechanics to educational components," noted Kirill Khvil, Deputy General Director of the Russian Society "Knowledge."
The application period for the "Prototypes of Games and Toys" and "Finished Products" categories will last until August 14.
As a result of the competition, up to 15 winners will be determined in each category. A total of up to 45 projects will receive support. Their authors will have access to mentorship, assistance in refining projects, the opportunity to present their developments to manufacturers, the launch of initial product batches, and marketing promotion measures.
Additionally, finalists in the "Ideas for Games and Toys" and "Prototypes of Games and Toys" categories will be included in the Bank of Ideas and Prototypes available to manufacturers. Finalists in the "Finished Products" category will be eligible for inclusion in the registry of verified products marked with the "Native Toy" sign and recommendations for use in preschool education organizations.
Let us remind you that the national project "Youth and Children" has been in effect in Russia since 2025 by the order of President Vladimir Putin. The national project aims to create opportunities for the development of talents and self-realization of young people, fostering responsible and highly moral individuals.
