      June 13, 2026 14:58 Incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to conduct a thorough investigation following reports of problems at a nursing home in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the agency, information has emerged on social media that elderly people in one of the nursing homes in Nizhny Novgorod were receiving substandard services. In particular, it was reported that one of the residents, a pensioner, died after staying at the facility. The relatives of the deceased are convinced that there was inadequate care for his health condition, which could have led to the tragedy. In connection with this fact, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region has initiated a preliminary investigation. Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, Airat Akhmetshin, to provide a detailed report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances. It should be noted that recently one of the private nursing homes located in the Arzamas district was already at the center of a scandal. Relatives of the elderly residents of the nursing home complained on social media about the quality of care. According to them, their loved ones were not given proper attention, the condition of some residents worsened, and one woman subsequently died after hospitalization.
