More than 40 settlements have been transformed in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

June 12, 2026 08:30 Society More than 40 settlements will be transformed in the Nizhny Novgorod region: some will change status, while others will be incorporated into other municipal formations. The corresponding laws were signed by Governor Gleb Nikitin. The most significant changes affected the Gorodetsky district. Here, several villages were merged together. In the Brilyakovsky rural council, the village of Sidorovo was joined with the village of Drozdovo. Also, the villages of Strekalovo and Kalinki were included in the village of Brilyakovo. In the Zinyakovsky rural council, five settlements—Sidorovo, Pestovo, Pritykino, Gorbushi, and Zinyaki—were merged into the village of Zinyaki. In the Kovriginsky rural council, the village of Savino was included in the village of Moshkino. In the Nikolopogostinsky rural council, the village of Voronino was incorporated into the settlement of Aksentis, while the village of Starcevo was included in the settlement of Ilyinsky. Changes also occurred in the Smolkovsky rural council. The villages of Prozorikha, Lugovoe, and Kovrigino were included in the village of Smolki. Additionally, Filiptsevo was joined with the village of Arzhanovo. The incorporated settlements have been officially excluded from the records. Furthermore, the status of several villages in the area was also changed. This was done to eliminate duplication and ensure the uniqueness of names. After surveys of residents and decisions by local deputies, they received the status of a village. These include Burkovo, Kumokhino, Moshkino, Nikolskoye, and Nikulino from the Brilyakovsky rural council, Drozdovo, Eleyo, and Strelka from the Zinyakovsky rural council, Petukhovo (Kovriginsky rural council), Zavrazhnoye and Nechaiha from the Kumokhinsky rural council, Bezvodnoye and Losevo from the Nikolopogostinsky rural council, Belyayevo, Vysokovo, Konevo, Osokovo, Tarkhanovo from the Smirkin rural council, Yablonnoe from the Smolkovsky rural council, Zubovo (Timiryazevsky rural council), and Korobovo (Fedurin rural council). Changes also occurred in other districts. In the Koverninsky district, the villages of Garel, Mokushino, Klyuchi, Mikhailovo, and Stepanovo became rural settlements. The villages of Bezvodnoye and Zimenki received the status of a village in the Semyonovsky district. In the Voznesensky district, on the contrary, the rural settlement of Svobodny now refers to villages. It should be noted that in May, three villages were abolished in the Nizhny Novgorod region after being merged with other settlements. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
