      When making any purchase, we want it to be of high quality, safe for our health, and possess the necessary consumer properties. Let's analyze how to choose a non-food product of proper quality and how to distinguish it from low-quality counterfeit goods. Proper quality of a product is a state in which all mandatory requirements for the product, provided by current legislation or contract, are met (or being met), and as a result, the product can be used for its intended purpose, thus being useful for the consumer. Furthermore, such quality simultaneously implies that the product is safe and has no defects. It is highly doubtful that you can buy a product of proper quality from street vendors or in stores where there is no information about the seller (no sign with the company name, address, and working hours), as well as the absence of a consumer corner and other necessary information about the seller. Typically, it is the "nameless" trading points that distribute low-quality products, often unsafe for health. Organizations engaged in the trade of non-food products must provide you with all the information about this product, namely: the name of the technical regulation or other established by the legislation of the Russian Federation on technical regulation and indicating the mandatory confirmation of the product's compliance; information about the main consumer properties of the goods; the price in rubles and the terms of purchase of goods, including when paying for goods after a certain time following their transfer to the consumer, the total amount to be paid by the consumer, and the repayment schedule for this amount; warranty period, if established; rules and conditions for effective and safe use of goods; information about the energy efficiency of goods for which the requirement for such information is defined in accordance with energy-saving legislation and improving energy efficiency; the service life or shelf life of goods, as well as information about the necessary actions by the consumer after the specified periods, address (location), and the company name of the manufacturer (executor, seller). This information can be placed by the manufacturer on the packaging, label, tag, marking of the product itself, or communicated to consumers in the technical documentation attached to the goods. If the seller has difficulty or refuses to provide you with such information, then the product is likely to be of poor quality and should not be purchased. If the product you are purchasing has been used or a defect (defects) has been eliminated in it, the consumer must be provided with information about this not only verbally but also in writing, and the identified defects must be indicated on the receipt, label, or tag.
