At the beginning of the event, the State flag of the Russian Federation and the Banner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation were brought into the hall, after which the national anthem was played. Senator of the Russian Federation Dmitry Krasnov addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. For achieving high indicators in ensuring legality and law and order, professionalism, and exemplary performance of official duties, he presented commendation letters to distinguished employees. By the decree of the head of state, employees who have merits in maintaining legality and law and order, as well as high personal indicators in official activities, were awarded. Then, the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sergey Polovnikov, spoke. For conscientious work and significant contribution to strengthening legality and law and order in the region, he presented Gratitude from the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to the employees of the internal affairs bodies. After that, the head of the Main Directorate, Police Lieutenant General Yuri Vasilyevich Arsentyev, announced a minute of silence in honor of the fallen heroes who defended the Motherland. A wreath of flowers was laid at the Memorial Complex of the Main Directorate, which commemorates the names of 221 employees of the internal affairs bodies of the region who died in the line of duty. "I am convinced that we will overcome all challenges and definitely achieve the set goals, as our multinational country has creative energy and inexhaustible potential," emphasized Yuri Vasilyevich, addressing the participants of the event. He also awarded employees for exemplary performance of official duties. Special guests of the event were the families of internal affairs employees who died while performing tasks to ensure law and order. Yuri Arsentyev presented valuable gifts to the family members of his deceased colleagues.
