Five women from Nizhny Novgorod were convicted for the sale of potent substances in pharmacies.

      On June 8, 2026, 12:12 Incidents The Avtozavodsky District Court issued a verdict against five women from Nizhny Novgorod, found guilty of illegal trafficking of potent substances. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

      It was established that from 2019 to 2022, the women formed an organized criminal group. The offenders illegally acquired, stored, and sold potent substances containing pregabalin. The sales were conducted through pharmacy points located in the Avtozavod area.

      A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of Article 234 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage, transportation for the purpose of selling potent substances, committed by an organized group on a large scale).

      The organizer of the organized criminal group was sentenced to four years and ten months of forced labor, as well as a deduction of 20% of her salary for the benefit of the state. In addition, she was banned from engaging in pharmaceutical activities for two years and ten months. The other participants were fined amounts ranging from 35,000 to 80,000 rubles.
