A Nizhny Novgorod resident decided to steal a motorcycle but couldn't start it - video

      On June 8, 2026, at 13:44, Incidents: A man was detained in Nizhny Novgorod for attempting to steal a motorcycle worth 80,000 rubles. Details were provided by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. A 36-year-old local resident reported to law enforcement that he had parked his motorcycle on Nevzorov Street for an hour and a half, and upon returning, he found the vehicle missing.

      Law enforcement officials discovered that a 51-year-old passerby had taken the abandoned motorcycle. He rolled it towards a nearby park, attempted to start it by connecting the wires, but was unsuccessful. Continuing to move through the nearby streets with the stolen property, the man fell off the motorcycle about a kilometer away. Bystanders noticed him, thinking he was drunk. At that point, the "thief" abandoned the motorcycle on the pedestrian path and fled into the park.

      Witnesses provided the police with a description of the criminal and the location of the motorcycle. Soon, law enforcement returned the motorcycle to its owner and detained the suspect. A criminal case has been initiated, and the suspect has been placed in custody.
