An ecological run took place in Sormovsky Park.

      About 150 people participated in the ecological event "Clean Shore - Easy Run," organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in the Sormovsky Park of Nizhny Novgorod. The event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Waterway Cleanup, the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia," Ecologist Day, and World Environment Day, and was held in accordance with the goals of the national project "Ecological Well-Being." Participants included representatives of government authorities, public organizations, businesses, sports associations, educational institutions, and local residents. Participants covered distances of 1000 meters for adults and 400 meters for children, combining the run with garbage collection in the park and the adjacent shoreline area. As a result, about five cubic meters of garbage were collected. The Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Olga Belyanina, noted that such initiatives contribute to fostering a responsible attitude towards nature and unite the region's residents. The organization and conduct of the event involved the project "Running into Culture," the diving club "Navyonik," LLC "Gazprom Gas Distribution Nizhny Novgorod," JSC "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Nizhny Novgorod," the Center for Environmental Education "Ekotorium," the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, "Field Kitchen - NN," JSC "Sitimatik - Nizhny Novgorod," Minin University with the project "Treasures of Biodiversity of the Nizhny Novgorod Region: Searching, Studying, Preserving" with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, the administration of Sormovsky Park, and the administration of the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod. The General Director of JSC "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Nizhny Novgorod," Mikhail Morozov, emphasized the importance of joint efforts in improving the territory and preserving natural objects. Since 2025, a national project "Ecological Well-Being" has been in effect in Russia by order of President Vladimir Putin, which continues the tasks of the national project "Ecology." It aims to create infrastructure for waste sorting and recycling, eliminate landfills and clear water bodies, preserve forests, reduce emissions into the atmosphere, develop eco-tourism, and protect rare animal species. The national project includes federal projects "General Cleanup," "Water of Russia," "Preservation of Biological Diversity and Development of Eco-Tourism," "Forest Preservation," "Circular Economy," and "Clean Air."
