      Let us recall the background of the scandal. Law enforcement officers arrived at Alexander Paramonov's home on March 12, 2025, around five in the morning. The politician left his apartment already accompanied by operatives. On the same day, searches were conducted at both branches of RANEPA – in Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk. According to local media, the teachers were in shock and refused to comment.

      According to the investigation, from 2019 to 2025, Paramonov organized a criminal group within the university. The scheme included the registration of fictitious admissions, the marking of "automatic" passes without classes, and the issuance of state diplomas for money. Part of the bribes, according to the former director, went to the development of youth sports. The money he received was spent on supporting the "RAZH" sports club, helping low-income athletes, and organizing competitions. In addition, the defendant stated that he regularly assisted military personnel in the special military operation zone.

      Among Paramonov's personal expenses are a costly suit, a new iPhone, and… advancement in his political career. The payment for the services of a specialist who managed the deputy's social media accounts was also borne by fictitious students.

      Alexander Paramonov is 47 years old. His career was rapid. A native of Bogorodsk, he graduated from the Volsk Military Logistics School and then from the Volga-Vyatka Academy of State Service. In 2015, he was already the director of the Dzerzhinsk branch of the university and the head of the political council of "United Russia" in the city of chemists. In 2019, he was elected to the Dzerzhinsk City Duma with a phenomenal result – over 80% of voters supported him. Since 2021, Paramonov represented the interests of Dzerzhinsk residents in the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. His awards include the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II class and a commemorative medal for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod.
