The ceiling collapsed in a three-story building on Piskunov: a criminal case has been opened.

      On June 3, 2026, 18:13 Incidents A criminal case has been initiated due to the collapse of the ceiling in apartment No. 18A on Piskunov Street in Nizhny Novgorod. According to a report by NNTV, the living space on the third floor of the building, constructed in 1917, was buried under debris of bricks, wood, and plaster. In one of the apartments, the ceiling collapsed directly above the bed. By order of the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee, Airat Akhmetshin, a criminal case has been opened under part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - providing services that do not meet the safety requirements for the life and health of consumers. As a result of the investigation, an assessment will be made of the actions or inactions of the management company employees responsible for the maintenance and repair of the common property of the apartment building.
