At the SPIEF-2026, an agreement was reached on the digitalization of urban transport in Russia.
On June 3, 2026, 18:14 Society At the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (18+), MTS and LLC "Service Center Transtelematika" signed an agreement on strategic partnership in the field of digitalization of urban transport and freight transportation. The companies plan to jointly develop and implement solutions in the areas of video surveillance, cybersecurity, and logistics, as well as to develop services for public transport - Wi-Fi networks, multimedia platforms, and systems for transmitting telematics data about the location and technical condition of rolling stock. Special attention will be paid to digital tools for transmitting video streams and cashless payment for travel, which should increase the speed of transactions and the safety of transportation. Among the key areas of cooperation are monitoring freight transportation, including refrigerated trucks, the implementation of AI video analytics in transport and at stops, counting passenger flow, and monitoring the condition of drivers. The parties also plan to develop dedicated communication networks pLTE and 5G for fleets, depots, and transport hubs. This will ensure the stable operation of transport management systems and enhance the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure facilities. Oleg Aldoshin, Vice President for Corporate Business at MTS, noted that the digitalization of transport aims to create a unified smart ecosystem that enhances the comfort and safety of transportation. According to him, the implementation of satellite monitoring, fuel consumption control, and the operation of special equipment will increase the efficiency of the industry, and cooperation will accelerate the digital transformation of urban transport.
