Coaches in the Nizhny Novgorod region will receive 1 million rubles.

      Coaches working in small settlements of the Nizhny Novgorod region will be able to receive a one-time payment of 1 million rubles from the federal budget under the "Zemsky Trainer" program. The funds can be used for any purpose. As noted by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, personnel programs aimed at attracting specialists to small towns and rural areas have been implemented in the region for several years. According to him, the development of physical culture and sports is an important direction of the state program "Sport of Russia," which aims to ensure the accessibility of sports and attract qualified personnel.

      Citizens of the Russian Federation with higher or secondary vocational education in the field of physical culture and sports have the right to participate in the program. The program applies to vacancies in settlements with a population of up to 50,000 people. There are no age restrictions for candidates.

      The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Dmitry Kabailo, emphasized that the program allows attracting both experienced coaches and young specialists to municipal sports institutions. The annual list of vacant positions is formed by the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Currently, the list for 2026 has been approved. This year, 44 quotas have been allocated for vacancies for coach-teachers, sports instructors, and other specialists.

      Documents for participation in the competitive selection must be submitted to the regional Ministry of Sports by June 19. After that, a ranking of candidates will be formed in descending order of points scored. Points are awarded, among other things, for a diploma with honors, work experience in the field of physical culture and sports for more than five years, additional professional education, and the presence of state and departmental awards, as well as sports titles.

      The payment is assigned after the conclusion of an employment contract and is transferred to the specialist's bank account. Under the terms of the contract, the employee is obliged to work in the organization for at least five years; otherwise, the funds must be returned proportionally to the unworked time.

      The Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Igor Pantyukhin, noted that the absence of age restrictions makes the program accessible to both experienced specialists and graduates.

      Since 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin, the state program "Sport of Russia" has been in effect in Russia, aimed at creating and improving conditions for physical activity, developing mass and children's sports, conducting sports mass events, and engaging citizens in meeting the standards of the "Ready for Labor and Defense" complex, as well as supporting veterans of the special military operation through sports activities.
