June 1, 2026 17:36 Culture and Leisure On June 1, Russia celebrates Children's Day. In Nizhny Novgorod, dozens of events (0+) have been prepared for the holiday, taking place in parks, theaters, museums, a planetarium, cultural centers, and libraries. One of the main attractions has become the 1st of May Park. Here, the "First Movement Festival" took place with an interactive program dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. After that, a festive concert was held on the main stage. The main themes of the events are the unity of the peoples of Russia, the preservation of cultural and historical heritage, support for family values, and children's initiatives. By participating in sports, creative, and educational activities, children learned about the traditions of the peoples of the country and discovered more about the history of their native region and opportunities for self-realization in the area. Participants joined the nationwide interactive "Rhythm of the First," danced to the folk dances of the Volga peoples, and took part in a large round dance of representatives from different nationalities, which became a symbol of friendship and understanding. A ceremony for the issuance of the first passports took place in the park as part of the "We are Citizens of Russia!" program, a presentation of the track "Summer #FOR_The_First," dedicated to the start of the summer health campaign, and the awarding of winners of the regional stage of the project-festival "Russian School Spring."
