The Social Fund of Russia will start accepting applications for the annual family benefit for working parents with two or more children from June 1. This measure will allow residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to reclaim part of the personal income tax (PIT) paid for the year 2025 by reducing the tax rate from 13% to 6%. This was reported by RIA "Novosti".
Applications can be submitted from June 1 to October 1, 2026, through the "Gosuslugi" portal, MFC, or the client service of the Social Fund. The benefit is available to officially employed mothers and fathers (as well as adoptive parents, guardians, and caretakers) of at least two children, provided that PIT at the rate of 13% was withheld from their income in 2025. After recalculating the tax at the rate of 6%, the state will return the difference for the previous year in a single payment. In fact, this works like a tax cashback for families with children. To receive the benefit, the average per capita income of the family for 2025 must be less than one and a half living wages per capita in the region, and it is also necessary to meet property requirements established by federal rules. According to estimates from federal agencies, more than 4 million families in Russia will be entitled to the family tax benefit, raising nearly 11 million children, some of whom live in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
