Last year's VHL champion "Torpedo-Gorky" has ceased to exist.

      The management of the hockey club "Torpedo" has decided to close the team "Torpedo-Gorky," which participated in the All-Russian Hockey League. In the upcoming season, the farm club will not participate in the tournament. In an official statement, it was noted that an agreement with a partner club will be announced soon, where most of the players who previously played for "Torpedo-Gorky" will continue their careers.

      It became known that "Torpedo-Gorky" will not play in the VHL championship for the 2026/2027 season even before the official statement from the club. The general director of "Torpedo," Evgeny Zabuga, explained that maintaining their own farm club has become significantly more expensive — costs have roughly doubled. An additional factor was changes in the regulations.
