From May 18 to 21, the conference "CIPR-2026" took place in Nizhny Novgorod, confirming its status as one of the international platforms for discussing the digital economy and technologies. More than 300 foreign delegates from 46 countries participated in the event, including India, Serbia, Argentina, China, the Philippines, Southeast Asian countries, Africa, and the Middle East. Over 10 foreign companies presented their stands, and official delegations from Zimbabwe, Serbia, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Laos, Uganda, Oman, Abkhazia, Côte d'Ivoire, and other countries participated in the business program. The business program included 11 specialized discussions. A key event was the plenary international session "Map of Digital Industry. Roles and Responsibilities on a Global Scale." Participants included Zimbabwe's First Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Myanmar's Minister of Science and Technology Myo Thein Gyi, the Chief of Staff of Serbia's Minister of Information and Telecommunications Lazar Pavlovic, and a representative from India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Saranyan Krishnan. The moderator was RT presenter Rory Suchet. Participants discussed the role of technology in ensuring sovereignty and the well-being of citizens.
In collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), a session titled "Building an Ecosystem: Infrastructure for Smart and Advanced Manufacturing in Developing Countries" was held. There was also a Russian-Indian session "From AI to Implementation: How Technology, Trust, and Infrastructure Shape International Digital Projects," featuring Dmitry Starostin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region, representatives from industry associations, and businesses from both countries. Topics discussed included the implementation of AI speech and video analytics, distributed IT teams, digital trust, and cybersecurity.
At the exhibition, companies from Belarus, China, India, Angola, and Uzbekistan presented their solutions. UNIDO had an information stand. Indian companies Meril and SRB Group showcased an innovative robot, medical implants, and VR/AR technologies. A negotiation platform "VKS Hall of Digital Attachés" was also available for consultations on IT export issues.
Several Russian companies signed agreements with foreign partners. The Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Gorky Tech" and the "NEIMARK" university signed agreements on strategic cooperation with the Alliance of Business Structures and Entrepreneurs of Southeast Asian countries (B2BASEAN).
A delegation from the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Republic of Serbia) visited the conference, led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Tomislav Zigmanov. A memorandum of intent for cooperation was signed between Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
The Republic of Myanmar sent a delegation headed by Minister of Science and Technology Myo Thein Gyi. He spoke at the session "Race of Speeds: Is Protection Keeping Up with Threats?" and met with the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin. The development of scientific and educational ties was discussed.
The delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan was led by the Consul General in Kazan Erlan Iskakov. During the conference, a working meeting was held with Governor Gleb Nikitin and a visit to the Nizhny Novgorod Development Corporation. Issues of production localization, organization of business missions, and the entry of residents of the SEZ "Kulibin" into international cooperation were discussed.
Gleb Nikitin also held bilateral meetings with heads of foreign delegations. As a result of negotiations with Serbia, a memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, agreements were reached with Myanmar to expand educational programs and increase the number of students from Myanmar in Nizhny Novgorod universities, discussions with Zimbabwe focused on increasing trade turnover, which has more than doubled in the last five years, and with Kazakhstan, cooperation in logistics, digital technologies, and trade was developed, as well as support for the entry of residents of the SEZ "Kulibin" into the Kazakh market.
The conference was organized by the company "OMG" with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, and the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region. General partners included the State Corporation Rostec, the State Corporation "Rosatom," "Rostelecom," Yandex, T-Bank, VEB.RF, and TMH.
The organization of specialized IT conferences and exhibitions aligns with the objectives of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State," implemented in Russia from 2025 by order of President Vladimir Putin.
