The prosecutor's office is investigating a private boarding house in Arzamas after complaints - video

      On May 27, 2026, at 13:53, Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod Prosecutor's Office showed footage of an inspection at the private nursing home "Cozy House" in Arzamas, where, according to the relatives of the residents, elderly people were provided with inadequate care.

      Recall that a scandal erupted around the nursing home for the elderly.

      Relatives of the residents reported on social media that their loved ones were allegedly not provided with proper care, and the condition of some pensioners worsened. One woman subsequently died after hospitalization.

      There was also information about a conflict between the staff of the institution and the relatives of one of the residents. According to the applicants, the incident occurred when the family attempted to take the elderly woman home. Allegedly, as a result of what happened, they sustained bodily injuries.

      Law enforcement became interested in the situation. Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to report on the progress of the inspection.

      In addition, the regional prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the court demanding to suspend the activities of the nursing home.

      The "Cozy House" responded to the accusations and stated that they were ready for dialogue and inspections, and if necessary, would provide documents confirming care for specific residents.
