61% of Russians are ready to give their child access to a children's bank.

At the same time, parents want to control spending, track balances and purchases, as well as automatically top up their child's bank account. According to a survey conducted by VTB, 70% of Russians are convinced that banking services for children are necessary. One in five parents (22%) considers the optimal age to start using a children's bank to be 10 years old, 18% choose 12 years, 15% - 8 years, and only 6% are ready to give access to banking services for children starting at 6 years old. From the respondents' point of view, the most needed functions for children are a piggy bank (48%), balance display and expense analysis (47%), topping up a school card (40%), as well as payments and transfers (34%). For parents, the key features of a children's bank remain controlling the child's spending (51%), access to their account (40%), viewing the balance and managing the card (39%), viewing and topping up the piggy bank (38%), as well as the ability to see a receipt with the composition of the purchase (35%). The most active demand for parents' access to their child's account is shown by residents of the Volga Federal District (48%), controlling spending is most important for residents of the Central and Volga Federal Districts (55% each), viewing the balance is needed by residents of the Central Federal District (48%), viewing and topping up the children's piggy bank is important for residents of the Far Eastern Federal District (53%), while receipts with the composition of the purchase are needed by residents of the Central Federal District (44%). The amount of monthly pocket money for children also varies: 25% of parents give up to 1,000 rubles and from 1,000 to 3,000 rubles, 16% - up to 500 rubles, 15% - from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles. Up to 1,000 rubles are more often given in the Southern Federal District (43%), up to 3,000 rubles - in the Northwestern Federal District (41%), up to 5,000 rubles - in the Far East (24%), and more than 5,000 rubles - in Siberia (12%). * The survey involved 1,500 adult residents of large cities in Russia (with a population of over 100,000 people).
