The "Digital Forest" forum took place in Nizhny Novgorod.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, the results of the VI All-Russian Forum "Digital Forest" were summarized, which took place from May 25 to 26 at the A.D. Sakharov Academy "Mayak." According to the Ministry of Forestry of the Nizhny Novgorod region, more than 300 representatives from federal and regional authorities, industry enterprises, and the scientific community participated in the event, including a delegation from the Republic of Belarus led by the General Director of RUP "Belgosles" Vitaly Bondarevich. The final plenary session was opened by the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Sergey Morozov. He noted that the region is one of the leaders in implementing digital solutions in the management, monitoring, and control of forest resources. More than 80 drones are used in the region, and there are plans to expand the network of video cameras to 205 units, with artificial intelligence tools being applied to detect forest fires and illegal logging. During the meeting, awards were presented to forestry workers. For their professionalism and contribution to the development of the industry, 25 specialists received departmental awards, badges of honor, commendations from Rosleskhoz, and letters of gratitude from the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The Deputy Head of the Federal Forestry Agency, Vyacheslav Spirenko, emphasized that the effectiveness of digital technologies in the forestry sector depends on the qualifications of the specialists who apply them in practice. He also announced the upcoming first Forest Hackathon for students in forestry-related fields and technical specialties in programming, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. The start of registration will be announced later on the information resources of Rosleskhoz. The forum included round tables dedicated to the digital transformation of the forestry complex, work in the Federal State Information System of the Forestry Complex (FGIS LC), the implementation of artificial intelligence, the provision of public services, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a member of the "United Russia" party faction, Denis Bakiyev, noted that digital solutions are aimed at increasing transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in forestry.
