It was established that the reinforced concrete bridge over the Volga River, located at the 444 km mark of the section between the Nizhny Novgorod and Kotel'nich stations, has corrosion in certain structural elements and defects in the concrete supports. The Nizhny Novgorod transport prosecutor filed a lawsuit to compel the bridge owner to carry out repairs. However, the first-instance court unjustifiably denied the prosecutor's claims. In this regard, the transport prosecutor submitted an appeal to a higher court. The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court upheld the transport prosecutor's claims. Thanks to the consistent measures taken by the supervisory authority, JSC "Russian Railways" has been obligated to repair the railway bridge. The execution of the court's decision is under the prosecutor's control.
