This was reported by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, after a meeting in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, which was held by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vitaly Savelyev. Earlier, Gleb Nikitin, together with the deputy representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, Alexey Kuzmitsky, appealed to Russian Railways (RZD) with a proposal to expand the number of such services. They voiced this initiative in March 2026 during a strategic session on the development of the tourist route "Golden Ring." According to Nikitin, RZD representatives reported that technical issues related to the repair and further reconstruction of the railway tracks are currently being resolved.

      "And today, RZD representatives also said that technical issues regarding the repair and continuation of the reconstruction of the relevant tracks are being resolved. Subsequently, the number of routes to these stations will increase, including from Nizhny Novgorod. That is, this issue is also under control, and there is support from the relevant government agencies on this matter," the governor stated.

      Currently, most trains, including the high-speed "Lastochka," arrive at the Eastern Railway Station in Moscow. It is located near the metro stations "Lokomotiv" of the Moscow Central Circle and "Cherkizovskaya" of the Sokolnicheskaya line.
