An interregional folk culture festival "Visiting Dunyasha" will be held in the Voznesensky District.

      On June 1, an interregional folk culture festival "Visiting Dunyasha" will take place in the village of Borki in the Voznesensky municipal district, organized by the local administration with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The festival is timed to coincide with the celebration of the Spirit Day, during which the traditional ceremony "Farewell to Dunyasha" is held annually in Borki. The celebration invites not only local residents but also guests from our region, including participants of road trips that are developing in the Nizhny Novgorod region thanks to the national project "Tourism and Hospitality."

      Within the framework of the festival, tastings, master classes, interactive sites, and exhibitions will be organized. For example, the exhibition "Craftsmanship of Kind Hands" will showcase decorative and applied arts, with a special focus on the works of masters of Polkhovo-Maidan painting. Everyone will have the opportunity to attend a master class on knitting small rugs and bead embroidery. Lovers of folk cuisine are invited to a honey tasting exhibition from a local apiary, a variety of dishes, and traditional meals from the Voznesensky district, as well as to experience a village-style tea ceremony.

      Festival guests will become participants in the ancient ritual and will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a folk holiday. The "Farewell to Dunyasha" ceremony will begin with the ritual dressing of a birch tree in a maiden's outfit accompanied by singing, followed by a procession along the main street of the village to the outskirts.

      The official opening of the festival will take place on the main stage at 10:30 with the presentation of an illustrated children's book "About Dunyasha the Beautiful and Rowan Beads," based on which a theatrical performance inspired by local folklore will be presented. The program will also feature a demonstration of the traditional authentic costume of the Voznesensky district "Folk. Festive. Ritual" and a haymakers' competition. The highlight of the festival will be performances by folk groups, accordionists, and singers of traditional songs "Sing, soul! Ring, accordion!"

      Let us remind you that the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" is being implemented on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and aims to address tasks previously included in the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry." It involves the development of infrastructure, production of equipment, training of personnel for the tourism sector, promotion of travel across Russia, as well as ensuring quality service and safe, comfortable trips. The national project includes five federal projects: "Creation of accommodation facilities, infrastructure, and attractions," "5 seas and Lake Baikal," "Production of domestic products for the tourism industry," "Tourist attractiveness of the country," and "Personnel for tourism."
