May 23, 2026 09:39 Economy In Nizhny Novgorod, rental housing has become 2% more affordable over the year. This is evidenced by data from the "Avito Real Estate" platform. Over the month, the decrease was more noticeable - by 6%. The average long-term rental rate in April 2026 was 33 thousand rubles. Overall in Russia, the supply of apartments for long-term rent has increased by 26% compared to last year. In Nizhny Novgorod, the selection has increased by 20%. The most significant increase was in one-bedroom apartments (+31%) and studios (+24%), while the number of two-bedroom (+12%) and three-bedroom (+6%) apartments also grew. Experts note that the increase in supply is largely related to the entry of investment apartments in new buildings - mainly compact formats. Against the backdrop of an increase in the number of available options and moderate demand, the average rental rate across the country has decreased by 3% over the year and stands at 31 thousand rubles. You can reduce rental expenses by looking for apartments directly from owners - without intermediaries and commissions. Additionally, it is worth considering the option of moving: despite possible associated costs, new offers at more attractive prices regularly appear on the market. And before the summer season, the selection of apartments traditionally expands - including options with fresh renovations and developed infrastructure. This provides an opportunity to find more advantageous housing and, if necessary, discuss rental conditions with the owner.
